Hello everyone,

My surname is Belinfante (It can be changed to "Bel-infante" and also pronounced like this). This name originates from Portugal. The Belinfante family were Portuguese Jews who had to leave Portugal about 1492.
I'm searching my family connections. Thats maybe also the reason why I'm comming several times a year to Portugal an specially to Carvoeiro because my dutch friend lives there already for more than 20 years.

I have done a lot of research in genealogy and have found a lot of relatives (living and dead). Believe it or not; even Harry Belafonte is related to me!

The Belinfante family members have been scattered mainly from the Netherlands throughout the world. You can find them in f.i. the USA, Canada, England, Jamaica and the west-indies, South Africa, Australia and a lot more countries in the world.

I'm allways looking to find new connections and that is the reason why I post this message on this site.

Does anyone of the visitors know a person with the surname Belinfante?

Apparently, at the last census, there were 21 adult Belinfantes in England. It is a relatively new site, I think, so the database of people wanting to get in touch with people will be small I expect, but it could be a start for you. Good luck.
