Something a little different!

Post by Karen Ann »

Everyone on hols usually tries the usual - a dip in the pool, sunbathing on the beach, going for long leisurely walks along the cliffs, taking the kids to slide n splash etc etc etc.
For those of you fun loving people out there who are looking for something a little different why not do what my son did and try "sky diving".
It was my sons 21st at christmas and skydiving is what he asked for, I suggested that he would probably be better doing it in Portugal as the weather is usually better.
He did his jump at 1400 feet on 30 Dec from Alvor airport and he loved every minute of it, he wants to do it again and again.
I thought I would share it with those who are looking to do something other than the usual holiday past times.

Hi Karen Ann
What a great idea!
I would love to do it, but so would my sons, so it usually works out too expensive for us to do daredevil things :D
Can I ask how much it costs?

roy4eyes has teamed up with Ryanair to provide low-cost sky-diving. The basic price is very cheap but then you pay through the nose for extras. :)

Hi Tricky
It cost €195 for the sky dive and another €75 for the DVD

I used to have a boss who was an e-Para. Some of our colleagues decided they would do a sponsored parachute jump and naturally assumed Dave would be up for it. Not a chance! he maintained that every jump was one closer to the one that was going to go wrong.

The parachute is free, but the pulling handle is 40 euros extra.......... Might give that a go myself, something I could just about manage, falling out of a plane
