On line check in with BMI

Post by flying fish »

Any of you people out there ever tried checking in online with BMI Baby (hand luggage only) I'm just doing it now for next week but I see no reference to my return flight, I can only print the boarding pass for the outgoing flight from East Midlands. This is our first time with BMI and I really don't want to Pay the extra £10 for not having a boarding pass. Thanks in anticipation

So far we have only used on-line booking for an outward flight with BMI and the convenience of just taking hand luggage was great. I agree that their 72 hr limit on printing your boarding pass is a pain. On our next trip we will be using BMI for the homeward flight. I am hoping to get the boarding passes printed at reception in our complex or one of the internet cafes. Failing that I might have to buy the cheapest printer I can find and leave it in our apartment.

We are in the same boat. Going out late April with Ryanair for 10 days and returning with BMI. We have not used BMI since on-line check in was introduced. Looks as if I will have to buy a cheap printer or use the Chinese shop down in the village. The time limit for printing the boarding pass is far too short when compared to EasyJet or Ryanair.

It looks like BMI is now 8 days for on-line check-in. Hope that applies to one way flights as well. I might just about squeeze that in next time but it obviously won't help you,DaveK.

Online checkin:

easyJet: 60 days
BMI: 8 days
BA: 24 hours !

I wonder if this has anything to do with the length of time that the airline expects to stay in business and offer you a flight ?

Interesting thought! Looks like I will be going to Worten or Radio Popular for a cheap printer. Last flew with BMI into Lisbon a couple of years ago. Only reason for using them to come back this time was timing and the price was reasonable; normally they are more expensive.

There is an internet cafe just across from Happys in Rua Farol. run by a really friendly guy named Paulo.

He will charge you 30 cents a sheet for printing......a damn sight cheaper than a printer!! :D

With BA you can check in online but don't actually need to print your boarding pass - you just show your passport at check in - is this not the case with BMI etc?

Graham, that's true for pretty much all airlines.
This discussion is for, those who do not check bags, can then by-pass the checkin lines and go straight to security.

came back with bmi baby on 30th - printed check in docs myself and we walked straight through to security - great! Coupled with only 16 people on flight and 25 mins early all-in-all excellent!
