Koh Samui

Post by carveiro regular2 »

We visited this restuarant tonight and felt we had to write a review immediately. Our experience was the antithesis of our expectations after reading the reviews on this website. The service was poor, the waiter was extremely rude and unhelpful. It was only after we ordered that he returned to tell us that only 3 of us could order chicken and no one could order pork. This was difficult as 5 out of 6 of us had ordered chicken dishes.

We arrived at 9.20 and eventually received our food at 11pm.

The vegetarian selection was poor. The veggie dish (arrived after everyone else's main dishes were finished) was poor and bland.

When the food eventually arrived in dribs and drabs, 2 dishes were missing with no explanation from the waiter as to where they were. In fact they never arrived and when commented on as the bill was being produced the waiter said he knew they had not been delivered!!!! So why he never told us they were not coming we will never know.

In addition, throughout the meal there was a very pungent sewage smell eminating from the toilets.

In summary, after 38 years of visiting restaurants in Carveiro this is undoubtedly the worst experience we have ever had and will not be returning to this establishment.

Such a pity we could do with a good Thai , there are similar reports about the Thai Orchid in Albufeira.

When we win the mega Euro lottery in addition to my "Rick Stein "franchise at the Boteca I will now add a first class Thai to the investments that I could afford to lose money on.

This place is a shame. From experience I know that the lady in the kitchen is capable of cooking good food, especially if they know you and you go on a quite winter night when they have time to cook fresh. But they are just plain lazy and serve absolute shite to the tourists or anyone misguided enough to go there in the summer.
