Shower Screen Surrounds

Apologies for the mundane enquiry but Forum members have been so helpful in making sure we get things right in our Villa( massive BBQ with Algarvian chimney is on its way) I am hoping someone can help again. Our New Villa when 'completed' last August did not come with a Shower Screen ( standard practice I understand in Portugal) . One of the problems is the tray is a strange 785 mm x 785 mm, and the standard seems to be in UK and Portugal either 800mm or 900 mm square. Having been quoted Euro 600 to supply and fit Acrylic one I am on the look out for other suppliers and to fit it myself.Leroy M are not really the right size ! In the UK you can get a half decent Glass one about £300 which can adapt to our tray. The Bathroom place in Lagoa ( near Faracil) had a lovely( frameless) one at Euro 900.
Can you suggest other outlets please, I am more that used to trawling the 125 to Guia and beyond!!!

If you have not done so already, suggest you talk to Paula in Top Shower / Solcave, near the Fatacil in Lagoa. This maybe the outlet you refer to. She is very helpful, and if she cannot find what you want in any of her catalogues, it probably isn't available in Portugal.

We had one made by Home who are on the 125 going towards Guia and about .5 km after Izi on the right hand side. Tel: 282 353 022. http://www.home-pt.com/uk/Default.htm. Our opening was not a standard size so they measured and fitted a solid glass panel, plus a door which swings in or out of the shower, and they did an excellent job.

Solambiente in Lagoa opposite Pingo Doce, on the right-hand side coming from Carvoeiro, just before the traffic lights. Sanipina on the N125 on the right not far after the big A22 round-about at Alcantarilha, fronting the little trading estate.
But the Home website looked very good.

Many thanks to Barry, Blue and Snowbirds for your help and assistance . We are out in a couple of weeks and will pursue your suggestions. The alternative would have to bring one out from the UK with some other stuff(via Algarve Removals) but we really do try to buy what we can locally !

Had much the same problem & had Mr Jacob in Lagoa supply & install 2 Spanish made shower doors that were adjustable in width. Cost €600+ each fitted.

The DIY models in Leroy Merlin look cheap & nasty so I'd import from UK.

Another rec for HOME here. I found Sol Ambiente very expensive. I liked Top Shower, but why go through a middleman when you can go to Home directly?
