Swim with Dolphins

Hi Ditzy, what has amazed me about it all is that the girls have been so inspired by their visit and the 12 year old has been on the computer today trying to find out what she needs to study to become a marine biologist ! how cool is that !!!

My son swam with the dolphins at Zoomarine a few weeks ago as well. 135 euros (they take of the 15 euro entry fee from the cost). The dolphins (as the previous poster stated) have their own enclosure at the rear of the park where they are in beach type surroundings. It is an enormous area (obviously nowhere near the size of an ocean). The oldest dolphin (he is 50) is the oldest living dolphin in captivity. It is expensive, but the money goes towards finding out more about the world and how to look after our planet - money well spent I think. And my son was also inspired to find out more after he had been.

Of course it is not ideal having wild animals in captivity. I understand all these dolphins were bred on site. They *appear* to be very well looked after, a good weight and quite lively. But who knows. Must admit, after the day at work I have had, I would definitely swap my life for that of a Zoomarine dolphin!!!
