Where is our villa located?

Hello,

Our family and others are going on vacation this summer, we have rented a villa which I think is near Caramujeira.

Directions are: Turn left after Porches (or through the International School to get left in the first place), the exit would read "Benagil, Praia da Marinha and Caramujeira".

Some 3,5 km after this exit, turn left onto sandy road and 200m after this there's another left turn and here is the villa.

(I'm not sure if it is OK to post the name af the villa here, afraid of breaking any agreement with the company or something. They have provided us with these directions, and a hand-written map.)

The exit to the sandy road is some kilometers before a junction where road goes to Carvoeiro and Bordeira, bit I cannot find this junction or place in any map.

Can anyone provide us with a map or a plan of this area? This must bu pretty close to Benagil?

Too bad the maps on the website isn't any help for me.

You would think a tourist spot such as this site is, would have detailed maps to major rental sites and detailed maps to general area.

Personaly, if I had my family, and others, depending on me to find that villa,
I'ed buy, or order, a map myself...

On the other hand, you could start a Family Legend.......

"Rember the time Dad tried to find that villa in Portugal......."

Sounds to me like you are just short of the Al Bandeira beach turn-off, not that this would help you in any way

Forget road names or house numbers in that area, got a name for the villa?

I guess there's no harm - the name of the villa is "Villa Ursula", since they advertise on the web here it is:

There is not much information on location, and there is no street address. Any help?

the route description does not coincide with the villa description. The villa descr. places it 3kms out of Cvo, but where the driving instructions lead you is roughly 6,5 Kms out.

I will have a look if I can find it on the way home today, in the meantime you could ask for a little less confusing directions....

Malrc: Thanks, I tried MapQuest. I have two better maps, but they don't help either. Bordeira on a map would help. I think the Villa must be on the way to Benagil beach, and that must be the beach they refer to on the internet site, I guess.

The directions were sort of re-written by me to make it short. The full description from the booking agency is better:

(Lots of text on how to get to the N125...)

"...Continue westwards to Porches and immediately after, at the traffic lights, is the left turn you require. However, the road system does not allow you to turn left, so continue past the turn and turn right into the International School to turn round and double back. The turn is signposted to Benagil, Praia da Marinha and Caramujeira. Follow for 3,5km then turn left onto sandy road. After 200 metres turn left again and Villa Ursula is on your right."

I THINK the "sandy road" after 3,5 km must be the road to either Marinha or to Albandeira. If anyone could confirm this, it would help.

However, the waterslide park, horseriding, shopping centre located nearby - I find it strange there are NO internet pages for any of those

Sorry, Wender, but I couldn't resist getting a joke in................

Two hobbyists get into their balloon for an excursion.

After a while, the wind unexpectedly picks up, and the balloon goes out of control.

The two balloonists, with great effort, manage to keep the balloon stable, upright, and away from power lines.

But they are lost.

With more effort, they get the balloon near the ground.
While floating over a country road, they see a man walking below.

One of the balloonists calls down to him:

"We're lost! Can you tell us where we are?"

The man thinks for a while, looks down, looks up, looks down again, stares into space for a minute, and then cries out:

"You're in a balloon!"

Hey Wender, found it - I think. does no look like it is the same colour and the name said Casa Ursula - what do you think are the chances of there being two Ursulas in Albandeira??
