Yep see what i mean..back home in ireland that would be great craic..despite the potential for a life losing situtation..but theres a bit of a difference between a stupid prank with no malice meant and a guy smashing you in the face with a broken beer glass....which by the way some of our yobs are quite capable of also...anyway hopefully thats the end of the trouble..such a shame really cos its probably the most international game in the world..ye don,t need anything special...four heaps of sand a roundy bit of camel shit and half a dozen native tribesmen and your off.By the way l.j the heads much better thanks for asking and the doc says the hair will grow back ..though why it should i dont know none of the rest of it did.

Glad your heads healing Gerry
..and dont worry about the hair..know what they say..grass dont grow on a busy street!
Didnt the Romans invent footie? was it using someones head?(grim thought
)...or a pigs bladder
(probably got that all wrong)
P.S. Lets hope the fans celebrate in good (& mannerly ) style..and make up for all the bad behaviour of the past week.Fun without hurting anyone or anything

Well done England, I am not a footie fan in any shape or form, but I congratulate every team that wins a game, they all put in so much effort that they all deserve congratulating.

44 or not in the stadium, England were very luck to win 3-0. What a dull game, nobody seemed to want to run or chase a ball. I mean if we cant string more than half a dozen passes together, when we have 11 mena to their ten. Pathetic bunch of overpaid ponces. They need a little incentive. Perhaps if they lose hey should be thrown into the lions den (the middle of Albufeira square) to face there acusers.
….…re the origins of the game…..there’s an interesting bit of history to be found at:
http://www.stjulians.com/prospectus/history.html which tells of
“Quinta Nova football pitch, the first football pitch ever to be constructed in Portugal” by Brits who taught the Portuguese how to play……..

A few drunken idiots apart, I think we should get to the real issue of the complaints by some on this subject.
It would be far better if the Scots, Irish and Welsh stopped cheering every body but the English and tried to raise a team that could even play well enough to reach the 'Big Occasion' rather than limit themselves to finding a few old farts who used to play football, who can hardly be understood to sitting on the television pontification about how good or how bad those are who reach this stage.
Perhaps Mel Gibson, who used Irish extras to make 'Brave Heart' because the Scots couldn't raise the head of steam!!
In order to make some sense of this subject should we not ask what is an Englishman, a Scotsman, Irishman, or Welshman?. Or better still ask yourselv's, why the bloody hell havn't we got a ream good enough to be there. Stop blaming the English , who, i'm sure, are sick of you lot moaning about our success. I AM!!

Wot you complaining abart. We're here to help the economy. Stuff the football.
Fink how many pints of overpriced beer we've drunk and had a bit of fun wiv the pigs so they don't stop you locals for speeding etc. So a few windows and chairs got broke - insurance will pay for that.
Look at Ibiza and Magaluf - their economy is improved cos we're here and not there, so families is going there instead of here.
Judges are nice here too - free flight home for my mate and no prison for him.
Having a smashing time here -- see you in the square tonight ?--think I'll be back next year.
INGALAND INGALAND INGALAND INGALAND INGALAND INGALAND !!!!!!!

Oo er St George! You have got your lance up this morning haven't you
and you a Turk as well
Who are we indeed the 'English'
A mongrel race of course. We stem from Romans/Vikings/Saxons/Normans and as in the dog world, the mongrel is the toughest. The true original Brits were the Welsh!
As for Mel Gibson playing William Wallace :roll:Im sure most proud Scots laughed at this. Wallace was a champion of his people and a man of great statue(6ft 6 I believe) where as Gibson is an aussie squirt!
But what does it really matter? whats important is we play the game and play it fairly, cleanly.
As I watched Portugal play on Wednesday I saw the Great Eusebio watching the game and I thought if only they had his skill and sportsmanship.
Oh there is one Welshman here who wished England good luck and that was Croeso.A sportsman if ever there was one

Good luck England - just a pity that we weren't there. Russia 'took' our place and were dreadful, I think a lot of fans would like to see Giggs, Bellamy, Speed, Davies etc compete on the 'big' stage.
Re England's performance v Switzerland, I agree it was not a classic but bearing in mind the intense heat it was never going to be a high tempo match. The TV news mentioned that some players lost 2 - 3 kgs during the 90 minutes! Daily Mail had an article today that none of the teams have really set the world alight yet & it really is a wide open tournament. Re the hooligan debate - I feel sorry for the true FANS who have saved for Euro'04 & are now classed as 'yobs'. Unfortunately, the yobs causing trouble in Albufeira are the same ilk that cause trouble in town centres throughout the UK every weekend. And yes, the UK includes Wales & Scotland - the yobs in Portugal are again using football as an excuse for their behaviour.
Prediction Croatia 1 England 2 and the value of 'Roonaldo' goes up by another £5m!!!!
Regards to all in CVO and good luck to Portugal.
Re Eusebio - Portugal's finest ever but he went down in my estimation last week as he refused to attend a presentation ceremony as he wouldn't receive any payment! (Sad).
