Evening Cowboy--no im wrong --its afternoon there --about 3pm?
Outrun H eh?
As well as my work (doing other peoples gardens) I do at least 2 mile walk a day --almost every day, which keeps me very fit--no indoor gym for me !
What do I find when I get home? "Himself" propped in front of TV watching sport, either rugby, snooker, cricket zzzzzzzzzz!
Any advice on how to get him up and running?
Now what were you saying about indoor games ? Boa noite,Ellie.

All of us
As you must suspect by now there is more to WJS than meets the eye.
So to clear this matter you first must realize the WJS is a complex
person with a multi personality. Sad sam, local larry, norman, herman,
whoever, throw in a guest here and there and you have WJS.
Yes, I am the one who has run amuck through local drivers, death of
local drivers and now this forum.

outdated rebuttals
Oh come on cowboy, you surly can do better than that. Remarks likecowboy wrote:i am...truly
....people misrepresenting themselves on the net....it's enough to destroy a young cowboy's faith.... but then what else can you expect from a yankee?
that died out 50 years ago even in Texas..
Portuguese are lazy
I cant take this in--simple-minded as I am----- and I cant believe I answered W J S in a half joking way--are you really all those characters that you named --astonishing I for one was totally taken-in--sometimes I felt harrassed by all those names--but i do have to hand it to you,it must have taken some doing!
Can I ask another question please? Were you also the "not so ugly American" ? Who called me ,a good sport ?or was that someone else?
Think Ill have to have a lie down in a quiet room now --boa noite Ellie.
P.S dont worry Cowboy --looks like a wind-up to me --stay cool Coop!

Civil war revisited
It was nice of you to inform the very few who do not know the meaningcowboy wrote:( for those of you not into the u.s. civil war.."yankees" is what the south called the north..."rebs" is what the north called the south.)
of "rebs" and Yankees", names brought on by the American civil war.
But you will find the non Americians and especially Europeans have
studied that period of our history and probably know as much or
possibly more on that subject than we do.
To go further into this matter the name "Reb" or Yankee" was in time
past used to demean or rebase the person or persons you are referring to.
But after about 140 year of use it has lost much of it's purpose and
effectiveness.
So Cowboy when I said "you can do much better than that" it was
what I was referring to. Perhaps I should have been more explicate in my
previous reply to you.
P.S. Remember Cowboy during these troubled times in our country
we are Americans and not "Rebs and Yankees

How does the saying go?? What a tangle web we weave when weBlondelle wrote:I cant take this in--simple-minded as I am----- and I cant believe I answered W J S in a half joking way--are you really all those characters that you named --astonishing I for one was totally taken-in--sometimes I felt harrassed by all those names--but i do have to hand it to you,it must have taken some doing!

pratice to deceive...or something like that.
Yes I am truly also "not so ugly American", but after all this I thought
it not wise to insert that as well. Some irate person might have
reconstructed it to another meaning.
At this point in time I feel I might be banished from the Land
of Steen to possibly the lonely plains of the Alentejo or still worse
the concrete canyons of Portimao..
hi wjs,...i got your point the first time..i was kidding around...as for the "yankee" bit...i'm from the south and we're alowed to use the "y" word in casual conversation
it wasn't ment to be offensive, although i can see now that you took it that way, and i'm sorry i offended you. however, for those born and raised in the south, the "y" word is in wide use..somthing to do with the myths and storys of a totaly defeated and occupied nation i suppose. ( when i lived in the north i was amazed that the good people there regared the civil war as dusty old history while in the south it's day before yesterday...i guess defeat has a longer memory)...p.s. yes we all in this together, although i can't see how we got from 9/11 to where we are now (well, yes i can, but that's another topic), anyhow we are not "rebs" and the"y-word" any more...libs/cons is the dividing line now, and we have a "cowboy" from texas (long may it wave) as pres....god must have a sence of humor.
