Carvoeiro on line radio

I am currently building an on line radio station called CVO-SOUL. Playing music 24 hours a day from Motown, soul, disco and hits from the 60's & 70's.

At the moment it is test mode only, so there may be the odd duplication but that will be resolved.

If any members on here have any particular music they would like me include for future playlists, leave your message. I will endeavour to add these, but my database only runs to about 10,000 tracks. Sorry no classical or jazz, but plenty from the last 50 years.

I am also hoping to add a Carvoeiro blog and News from the town, time permitting, and will add this as time goes on. Maybe Steen will allow me to put a link on the site

Hey Soulman, this is really great and is now added to my favourites. It makes a change from listening to 6 tracks in an hour and a DJ wittering on about any old garbage the rest of the time.

Good luck with getting Steen to allow a link from the Carvoeiro website, I'm sure he'll agree.

Good luck with your venture, will be good to listen to a local station that does not have Old Cronies blabbering on about nothing and amateur adverts. I think you are spot on with the average age of your potential listeners. My computer is hooked up to my sound system and you sound really good. Off the record, my brother started Capital Radio in London and in my youth I was a mobile DJ for many years, so love this era . Likewise I hope Steen will assist.

Wonderful music I work in Soho London have re-tuned the office music radio to you, instead of absolute 80s which was good, but.
I can never understand how being 60 the music of my youth was soul and The Who type sounds we had energy rushed around doing everything all at the same time.
I yet programmers like sound of the 60's BBC2 Sat 8am still has requests for the Matt Monro or The Bachelors, this was our parent music no one I knew would be seen dead listening to that. Once again perfect Soul music from the heart for the young at heart.

Nice - but I can't get it on my Sonos system - does it have another name? I have got it online but can't play it around the house through Sonos.

When I enter Radionomy - I get a very large selection but none have the orange telephone as their logo - what am I doing wrong

Hi Shangarry,

I've looked at the Sonos system , and as long as your computer connects to the web page it should stream the station once you click on the play button. If you can't get the page for the station, I've put a link to the mini player, shown below. Think this should work. You can then follow the URL for the web page from here.

Depending on your connection speed this can take a few seconds to buffer before it starts playing.

Have tried everything - as has a friend to connect using Sonos - no go unfortunately. We can connect through the link but it won't load on the Sonos system.

Never mind - we can hear it downstairs in and around the office area.

You're obviously a proper soul fan if you are into Northern Soul. Spent many a long night at Wigan Casino and Samanthas in Leeds, during my youth. Looking forward to getting your list, not sure if I'll have all the rare songs, but I have a pretty good selection. Trouble is, they're not everyone's cup of tea. Probably because they don't recognise them.

Right on brother sounds a bit corney that, but back in the early 70's it was cool to come out with those sort of expression's,anyway once i've got all my do's out of the way this xmas(still DJing at the age of 54) I will send you a list approx 15/20 not all Northern. Regards PT
