I have a car - is it easy to park up there at this time of year (and which way would I drive - sorry - really useless at finding my way around!)

I think there is plenty of parking spaces. The easiest way I would think is that if you come down restaurant hill and take a left up past Sullys. Carry on around past O'Boteco. At the top of the hill take left turn. If you carry on that road about 1/4 of a mile or so past the QDP turning and past the new villa devlopment. You should see the signpost and the menus at the opening on the left.

Probably better going up the steep hill that the Jailhouse is on, then turn right at the top to QDP, and onwards. I'd take a taxi from where you are and walk back.

Drove up there tonight (thank goodness - would never had made it if I had been walking!) - had a beautiful meal of prawns, was very well looked after and had a lovely time.

The prawns were crispy and tasty and not rubbery (like the ones I had in town last week) - would highly recommend the restaurant. The people on the table next to us had sea bass, which was filleted at the table by the waiter - a very nice touch.

Thanks to everyone who recommended it and directed me to it - will definitely visit again.

I had the same, but sometime in May, when it was just about warm enough to sit outside. It wasn;t very crowded so the waiter took extra care to fillet the fish, and lay it out beautifully on the plate, and then dished up the vegetables.

By the time I came to eat it, the fish was cold
but tasty, yes !

Glad to hear Vila Nova has opened already, Sandy. We are going out later this month and we always make a point of going to see Anibal. Was it very busy when you were there?

No - I was his first customer on the first night of opening. Some other people came in later but just a few diners that evening.

We tried out Villa Nova, and not at all disappointed. The restaurant was fairly empty, but the food was excellent, and Anibals welcome and service, first rate.

The hit of the night, was the lemon sorbet in vodka.
It was served as an mid course palette cleanser.....and my wife was so taken by it, she had the rest of what was left as her dessert!!

We recently had friends to supper, and she re-created that dessert.....went down a storm.
