buying this flat
I,m quite serious about this apartment/flat or whatever it is.I,ts directly above the ice cream parlour and the pub.Click onto the webcam and its the floor above your head,i don,t know if its a flat or just a storage space above shops but look where it is. You could spit from the window into the sea.The shops bars restraunts etc, are sixty seconds away,it couldn,t be more perfect if it grew there. It has to be worth a look, maybe if gordon and sandy get a free minute they could find out about it,or maybe somebody already there could drop a dime and get the price even.Anyway i,ll leave it at that for the time being, anybody half interested might give us a shout.
I think you know that I am interested - Jo too I noticed earlier, we do need the info though.
And a good mix of people too, those who would want time in school holidays and those would most certainly would not want to be surrounded them darn pesky vermin. Older people who enjoy spending some of the much cooler winter weeks there when it is freezing in N. Europe as well.
I am so up for it - Mads

Gerry - we will certainly check it out when we are are there. Sands arrives Saturday and I get there Tuesday. I like the idea of a Carvo' lovers pad, it sort of cements our common commitment to the place. Will let you know what we find out.
Are any other regular Forum people going to be there between May 10-28?
We would love to meet up.
Cheers - G

Would definitely like to know more about this place - let us know once you've done a recce!
I fall into the catagory of leaving the little darlings behind!! Mine are grown up now (but still cost me a lot!!) - although I do have a grandson of 4yrs! Probably shouldn't have put that as you'll all think I'm REALLY old now!!!
I was a child bride really!!

I hasten to add that the place is not mine, nor our neighbours. Think a little about the location before getting carried away; the noice of motor bikes, trucks and drunks rev'ing up before the steep Rua do Paraiso. The fact that there's no windows to the back which will make room division very difficult and... have you seen it inside?
Sadly Maddi, I used to be a millionaire, then the Escudos was divided by 200 and called euro, now I am no longer a millionaire.

... but I just realise that we should have celebrated the fifth anniversary of www.carvoeiro.com a few days ago! A long time in the .com business!

Speaking about Turkey (tenuous link here!). If anyone is interested in my other holiday destination then check out http://www.hisaronu.co.uk/.maddi wrote:You are still a millionaire in Turkey, Steen but then so am I . . .
If you'd like to read a few posting I've made then click onto Message Board (lh side), and go to the Forum. If any of you are on the Rosemary Clooney diet you might like my postings on the subject
Hi Michael,
I have been on that web site and no wonder your comments on this site are sporadic - when do you have the time? You pop up all over the show on the Hisaronu one.
At least we will be able to keep tabs on when you are jetting off to one of your other favourite destinations, have you more for us? Unfortunately I haven't been to that bit of Turkey and feel unable to join in - there isn't anything like it for Bitez.
I am off to Skiathos in 10 days time for a fortnight and whilst I am a semi regular contributor to the Skiathos Bulletin Board, it is isn't the same as this one or the Hisaronu one.
Do other forum users know destination based sites that they could share?
I am sure a number of us have "been about a bit".

congratulations
Existing for five years in the.com business means you are doing it right,
congratulations Steed.
You may be jesting about having to give up the escudo for that "one
shoe fits all euro"...but it's starting to look like the ever rising euro with
no end in sight might come back to haunt us..don't you think??
If George W. would only get some confidence back in the American
dollar it might take the strain off the euro...
P.S. Don't you think that Saddam wished he had socked away
more of his money in euros instead of the dollar..
congratulations Steed.

I just remembered something from when we were in Carvoeiro last October. Sitting in a restaurant up the hill on the opposite side of the beach from the ice cream shop we spotted a number of seemingly derelict properties further up the hill from the shop. It seemed strange as they were in seemingly prime locations overlooking the bay and should be ripe for refurbishing. Asking around I was told that properties such as these were often the subject of inheritance disputes, which could drag on for years - meanwhile the houses fall in to disrepair. There may be a similar situation with the flat, but we will check anyway - 60 hours to arrival! G
