Looking for an inexpensive kitchen but don't want to use Leroy Merlin, Ikea, Izi. Anyone used this supplier or can recommend someone else?

yep agree totally Coznova are very good - their main shop is on the old Albuferia rd - turn rt at the island at Alcantarhila - left at 2nd island and follow yr nose through Guia and towards Albuferia - you go past the Grand Praia beaches and it is about 7-8 kms, a bit out of the way, but the display is fantastic.
Re: Klass Cozinhas
Thank you. I have asked both companies to quote.

We used them, and although we knew the quality of the units were B&Q standard, it was something of a shoddy job. I was very disappointed with the quality of installation, and there was a fair degree of colour variation between the units. They didn't clean up particularly well afterwards either, so I wouldn't use them again. Furthermore, it was far more than I originally intended to pay when considering all of the final costs, and would have expected a much better job for the money.

Good feedback matryx!

I have to say that the kitchen looks quite OK now, but we had to do a lot of the clean-up and some remedial work to finish it off. I have to accept the quality of units, because I didn't want to spend a bomb when it's a holiday home, so no real complaints about that......you get what you pay for. It was more to do with the installation, or lack of it!

Re: Klass Cozinhas
They fitted our Kitchen to our Villa when it was new in 2009 and when we had a problem with the Dishwasher( it leaked water everywhere due to a faulty valve) within 12 months, which they supplied and fitted they were just not interested!
Their attitude was if anything needs replacing we would have to pay the going rate.
We got the dishwasher fixed by the manufacturers Fagor direct but have been told that we will have to pay Euro 150 to have the side panel that was damaged relaced . Its a piece of veneered chipboard 600mm by 890mm, gold plated methinks.......suggestions please as to what my next step should be rather than just pay up and stop whinging ! We have tried magic words such as please !
Is there such a thing as a Portugese version of the Consumers assocition or is that very wishful thinking ?

Re: Klass Cozinhas
We had a very similar experience with a washing machine fitted by Cozisul when we purchased our porperty. They omitted to fit a washer which resulted in damage for us and our neighbours.
When we approached them they were completely dismissive, we spoke to our solicitor who wrote a letter to them, they refused to accept any liability. We then made the decision that we would be wasting time and energy taking it any further and Mr SB had to get his sand paper and paint brushes out.
Needless to say we will never be a customer of Cozisul again. In my book things will always go wrong but the measure of a company is how they deal with it when it does.

Re: Klass Cozinhas
Thanks sb , as you and all who have posted on this forum I will certainly not be advising anyone to go to Klass Cozinhas quite to the contrary !
Re: Klass Cozinhas
We bought an apartment on Rocha Brava last year and have just had a new kitchen fitted, retiled and redecorated.
I have to say our experience with Klass Cozinhas has been excellent. They could not do enough to advise and help. for example, their range of worktops was limited but we found one we liked at Leroy Merlin. They were only too happy to go and collect the one we wanted and pick up extra tiles (as I hadnt bought enough). My wife has just returned home and is extremely happy with the work they have done, the cleanliness of the apartment after they had finished and their willingness to do the little extras we required.
Its not easy doing these projects when you are in England and the contractor is on the Algarve but I would not hesitate in recommending this company.

Re: Klass Cozinhas
I would reiterate the comments that 'hubbie' rochacol posted about Klass. They were first class! Couldn't fault them at all, after visiting last week-end to sign off the job and pay the remaining balance I couldn't be happier with the work that they did (and my Dad's an old school cabinet maker so I've only ever been used to professional workmanship). I only had one slight problem with one of the hinges on the cupboard door and they returned within 24 hours to fix the problem. The tiling to both the walls and floor was very professional and smart. We kept the original fridge freezer but it looked 'tired' and out of place so Maureen at Klass gave me a quote for a Stainless Steel one which was 50 euros cheaper than the electrical Store at the retail park which included delivery and removal of the old fridge freezer. So please don't be put off by any of the comments above (I think some of the posts above are a little confusing - quoting Cozisul and Klass as one and the same and they aren't). It would be a shame if property owners looking for a new kitchen didn't at least call into Klass showroom at Lagoa to have a look around and chat with Maureen and then make up their own mind. I have photos of our kitchen if anyone would like me to email them.
Re: Klass Cozinhas
Sadly it seems Klass Cozinas has gone bust. Unless someone can tell me they have moved and where to. Shame for others as they served us well and gave us a really lovely new kitchen. Shame for us too as we need a couple of replacement doors and can't find where they got their doors. So we are searching the uk's kitchen companies for copies. Not easy.
