Thing is Tricks, should we encourage these east-enders over to the sophisticated side - they may well lower the tone you know - drop litter, wear vests, read The Sun and things like that :P - perhaps we should put a barrier up at Smilers and stop them coming over

SO glad you enjoyed it Bruce! We'll have to make it our official reunion venue when we're all in CVO together again.... and maybe I'll finally get to meet Tricky face to face!

How many times do I need to explain to you Richard, that we, far from being the land of football shirts and the tabloids, are living in a more natural, more Portuguese area of town than the estates of Surbiton -on -the- Hill.
We prefer to be just a minutes walk from the open clifftops that stretch, virtually uninterrupted all the way to Pera
We prefer to be a pleasant 3 minute walk from the beautiful Centianes Bay, instead of pretending Boteca is a beach.

Because you are our friend, we have offered you this idyll, but no, you dont feel safe unless you are ensconced in the Butlins like confines of Monte Carvoeiro. :D

Still.....you always know that you are welcome over here in the east to enjoy the good life :D

The place where taxis fear to go  - never see the colour of a man's hair because of the knotted hanky tied on there.

Yes - the luxurious suurounds of Monte CVO do spoil us - couple minutes walk to the centre of the village - cocktail bar, jazz club, restaurants, bars all available if you don't fancy a stroll - and no knotted hankies

But do feel free to visit any time - you'll be most welcome once they've hosed you down. :P

So if they are your criteria Rich....why come all the way here....arent Bournmouth, Bogner and Southsea, much closer....nothing much Portuguese there either :D

As e-Richard advised, I shall not rise to the bait - we on the west side are too sophisticated for that 8) 8) - though I would have thought Bournemouth et al would be fine for you - you know, average age of residents over 65!

Question: Why do people who live on the West side visit the East side every Sunday morning?

Answer: To collect their stolen cars.

Quite seriously though, I have found that the average age of homeowners over on the centeanes side is considerably
higher than over on our Monte Carvoeiro area. Hampshire Rich and e-richard will agree with me. We only allow the under 70's
into our fun-filled paradise (and we have the best bars and restaurants) and we can walk to town. Heard that they are going to have a
mobility scooter park near the Mona Lisa
