I thought it was just me and the missus who missed salad cream on holiday. Now I feel vindicated.

Never travel anywhere abroad without salad cream, brown sauce, nescafe, & tetley tea bags.
Armed with this we can make any portuguese food edible!

Never had the courage to take them to a restaurant though.

I now await the flood of posts of derision. Keep it light though, I am only winding you up a little.

Same here, although not being a connoisseur I'm happy with PG, Tetleys or Yorkshire tea. The kind of meals that I like brown sauce on, I usually have at Helder's Tropical Bar, and he's always able to provide it. Apart from that I'm quite happy with what is available locally.

Strangely we always bring tea back to the UK. My wife loves Liptons green Orient tea but cannot buy it in this country yet is is available in Continente and Intermarche.
The other strange thing is with Kellogs sugar reduced Frosties - you can't get them over here yet Continente in the Portimao shopping centre sells them ???
As for Heinz salad cream my wife always manages to get a bottle of it into the suitcase - she can't live without it
