Sounds fantastic, which course are you referring to?

Did your friends book through an agency or just turn up and pay at the course.
I am out next week and at that rate would be interested in a game.

Ron,
The course in Silves is a Pestana Course. I have played this course and a buggy is a definite necessity.
I looked at the Oceanico Website and see they are offering 18holes O' Connor including buggy for €65 each (Faldo €70)
This is for tee times after 11am. Club hire for €10. I will call and check what they will offer.
Oceanico also have great twilight promotions. Check the "Tee Times" Website.

It was the O'Connor course, the 65€ is for 2 players including buggy and they must have had the club hire thrown in. They did start their round after 11. Most courses here are offering summer savers at around 90€ for 2 inc buggy, usually from June 1 until sometime in September. I don't play the stupid game so it doesn't bother me too much

SIlves is OK ( does it have a clubhouse yet , can you get a drink after the game ? )
The only problem can be the smoke from the cork factory, in certain conditions it can form a dense cloud over parts of the course.
They even had signs informing golfers that it was harmless !!

Yes Emm , A lovely small clubhouse with lovely people. You can also sit outside and watch players tee off on the 1st hole.
I would rate this a better course than Pinta/Gramacho. It has improved greatly in the past 2 years. Silves is a golf course with very few villas where as Gramacho/Pinta are villas with a golf course in the middle.
Silves is usually priced at 20% less than the other Pestana Courses.
Never had any problems with the smoke and as for drink there is also a bar/cart on the course.
