Dear Mad.
Most people seem to watch football matches in smilers, but most of the bars will have footie on and they advertise on the black boards.
Im sorry that some people on here have given you a hard time because of the way you want to spend your holiday as the other guest said each to there own, the only problem i have is that you want to watch Arsenal, why dont you try a proper team like SPURS
I hope you have a great holiday.
Td what a snob i think you have shot yourself in the foot with your post about the chippie & costa del sol

Hello Mad,
Don' let worry you the reply of the "moralists" who think they have the monopoly to decide what is high-minded or inferior. In my modest opinion is this attidude an expression of arrogancy instead of being helpfull. You have the right to organise your live/holliday's as long as you stay within the norms of the society. I cannot imagine that your simple request means any danger/ harm.
Almost every bar in Carvoeiro shows the english sportgames. I should be surprised if you don't find what you are looking for.

I'm going home now after a successful day at the coal-face, finding the moral high ground and putting some of you straight on the way things are - not the way you envisage them to be.
Snobbery, pompsity, rudeness - whatever floats your boat - we got a lot of people resorting to their keyboards to get their point across - that was a useful exercise in proactive motivational manipulation.
Whatever next

Is there a particular reason why most (not all) of you hide behind the 'Guest' id? Come out in the open and let us 'see' you
Now where are we with the Gooner Family who want to watch 3 matches on TV while on holiday in Cvo?
Have they been accommodated and directed to the most suitable facility?
Good

Dearest TD
I never thought I'd say this but I do agree with you regarding having Englishism rammed down our throats. I do believe you have got me all wrong.
I have never and will never frequent a place for a "all day full English breakfast". When on holiday we eat local food at local restaurants (although can't always say the same for my son). We always try and learn the basics of the country's language and trust me, never wear union jack shorts, string vests or hankies on our heads.
As you said, if I wanted a Brits holiday abroad, I would go to Benidorm or such like but I have chosen to come to Carvoeiro because it looks delightful.
I merely made a request regarding televised football, not because I am a british bulldog, but because I happen to enjoy the game, am an ardent fan and wondered if there was anywhere in Carvoeiro that showed sport. I think you'll find that the locals enjoy the football as much as anyone else!
Anyway, you're still oustandingly pompous (but know you're proud of that), even if I do agree with some of your points. Am off on Saturday to Verona to see Aida at the Arena - cultured enough for you????
