Could anyone give me some info on trains? I would like to know if there is a train from Carvoeiro and Albufeira to Lagos and at approximately what time does the last one leave?

Nearest train station to Cvo. is Estombar and trains go to Lagos - don't know timetable though.

Thanks for that. I found the info on the web here http://www.portugal.com/Information/tra ... e_page.asp Seems there is a service from Faro too but that one stops even earlier. We are staying in Lagos, but want a night out in Cvo but don't want to drive ..... so the next question is ..... How much is a taxi?

best station is at silves...not all trains stop at estombar...see the web site for the railways..www.cp.pt

Relatives staying in Lagos got the train to Estombar to meet up with us in Cvo. they then returned by short taxi journey to Estombar to get train back to Lagos - why would they travel extra miles to Silves when train timetable told them they could get to Cvo. via Estombar?

I suppose it depends on the timing?
