new to carvoeiro

Hello to all members I am new to this site but contribute to other Algarve forums as I have visited the Algarve numerous times over many years
the question I have is that I have got a good deal in the Tivoli for beginning of May and I know the location as ive driven past it when visiting Carvoeiro on day trips etc,so i know its at the top of restaurant hill, my question for those of you in the know is,my wife does not have the best mobiliy although she can walk fairly well, sometimes she has days when its more of a struggle,so my question would be could someone please recomend 3 or 4 restaurants and maybe a couple of bars no too far from the hotel, budget not an issue but would ideally prefer portuguese restaurants and bars,thank you very much in anticipation of members replies

A Marisqueira is very good, Portuguese food, as you come from the Tivoli into Carvoeiro it is on the right hand side just before the Mirachoro Praia hotel

We always swear by A Gale. Further down the hill on the left hand side, just past the ATM machines.

Good food, plentiful, reasonable prices, friendly welcome, and according to my wife, the chef is the best fish chef in Carvoeiro.

But the bottom line is....ask 10 different people, and probably get 10 different answers to your question, but A Gale, along with Happys, on the opposite side of the road, is probably in most people's top 5.

But A Gale is not as close to the Tivoli for someone with mobility problems

Vimar is one of the first restaurants on the right hand side as you go down the hill and is very good, and also reasonably priced. Try their pork with figs - delicious!
