Coffee

Coming out for a couple of weeks to CVO shortly. Not strictly a food question, but where is the best place for 'proper' coffee. Can't function properly without a shot of good caffeine in the morning. Not the stale instant stuff, but freshly roasted and ground beans with all the taste extracted by a Gaggia espresso machine or similar.

Sorry, writng about it has made me yearn for one. Must go.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Alan, you are in luck - you are coming to a country where a request for instant coffee will most likely result you in being chased out of the coffee shop with a pitchfork. Fresh ground coffee is tradition and your local portuguese coffee shop would not have it any other way.

Go to Belissimo Café just opposite the post office in the centre of town, they have the highest quality "gold" brand from Delta - fantastic stuff.
