Re: Strikes again
Our flight is now going from Seville (as long as the strike is still in place) therefore we have to be at the airport 6 hours before our departure to be coached from Faro to Seville !!!! fun, fun, fun

Great - just great!
Thank you Portuguese ATCs - you're really going to endear tourists to your country! Tossers!!
We fly out of BTL on Sunday morning - just hope the flight is on (into Seville i guess) - if there's any worse outcome, like cancellation, we'll go somewhere else and u can stuff Portugal where the sun don't shine! Could be the straw that means we won't come back.

Re: Strikes again
Try Greece. I'm told there's lots of cheap accommodation there.Bristle Si wrote:...we'll go somewhere else and u can stuff Portugal where the sun don't shine! Could be the straw that means we won't come back.
Oh sorry, no thats' no good cos they have strikes in Greece too.
Maybe just drive to France on those weeks that the Ferry workers or Lorry drivers are not on strike.
Or probably the best solution is to stay in the UK cos there are no strikes there.

Typical sarcy reply that some come to expect on this forum from some on here. Never mind.e-richard wrote:Try Greece. Re: Strikes again
Hope you get to Faro now Bristle Si, my son just missed all this coming back, although I guess a few extra days he wouldn’t have minded. I do understand the frustration especially when you look forward to a well earned rest. We are due out for a month end of August, I hope nothing kicks off then because I travel on a Friday normally and it seems the strikes start at weekends. So enjoy and try and relax.

Re: Strikes again
strikes cancelled all flights back to normal times !!! please check before you set off. some sense at last.
Re: Strikes again
Flying from Manchester, with Jet2 on Saturday, looked on their site last night and strike mentioned, advised to
check for updates. Looked this morning and no mention, so hopefully strikes are off.

Re: Strikes again
this all takes you back to the day of Maggie taking on the unions doesn't it? just been reading in the casa da banho that hotel occupancy for the first half of this year is the lowest since 1996, not surprising as Spanish tourists cut back on coming because of the tolls, but now some joker think it might be fun to stop tourists coming here at a peakish time of the season, approaching commercial suicide
I take Bristle-Si's point, the best way to vote is with ones feet; I'm a long standing Barclays customer & fully intend to close all my accounts if Knob Diamond doesn't resign or get sent to prison; the snag with that is that I now see my No.1 transfer target, HSBC, is under the same microscope, they're all at it
anyone got a nice, honest, friendly bank to recommend?

Re: Strikes again
Yep, thank goodness it is all back to normal for us and many others ...... this will not stop us from coming out when we want to and enjoying our place out here, things happen - cope with them. It would have just been a bit annoying to have had to get up at 3am to get a coach to Seville, I was impressed with the speed that Easyjet got things organised and by the way they let us know as soon as they were able what was going on, they contacted me both via email and text on my phone. Well done Easyjet ...
Re: Strikes again
pleased for you LJ
