Re-filling swimming pool

We have just had some work done on our pool, and now need to re-fill it.
Re-filling via the mains seems the most expensive option, especially as you can set yourself on a higher tarif if you go over a certain limit.

We had hoped to tanker 40,000 litres in, but both sources we have discovered, can only discharge by gravity. So the tanker needs to be at least level with the top of the pool.

Our pool sits about 3 metres above the nearest road access point, so any water we buy will need to be pumped from the bowser/tanker to the pool.

The Bomberios, can supply and pump, but they are almost as expensive as filling from the mains.

Does anybody know of a water supplier that can deliver via a pump?

Just let it fill up with rainwater. We did this starting January and by the time (May) it was swimming weather it was well over half full. We then topped it up, ran the filter pump for 24 hours and it was ready to go.

Does anybody have knowledge of a contractor that can sell me a pumped 40,000 litres of water?

As a matter of interest how much approximately does 40,000 litres of water by tanker cost?

Our neighbour emptied his pool last yeae and refilled it from a rainwater cisterna he built.
It was cloudy for a few days but soon cleared.
It has given us the idea of fitting gutters with an extension we can add to the down pipe to channel the water into the pool.
Given the amount of rain we have had in the last few days it would save a few euros on refilling costs.

After failing to get any offers except the Bomberios at what we considered an extortionate price, we went into the Water Office in Lagoa, to discuss our options with them.
To our surprise, the cost of filling from the mains, even allowing for pro rata increase in sewage cost, came to less than half what the Bomberios were quoting.
Even though I'm a wee bit wary of quite believing this surprise figure from the Camara, even if it costs double what they quote, it wont cost any more than the Bomberios....and bearing in mind, I dont seem to have many....in fact, any, other options, I will refill from the mains, and see what the March bill is. Fingers crossed I was given the correct figures. I saw what the girl was doing on the computer, and it looked correct Watch this space!!

Bomberios, about 400 euros. You can get it cheaper as long as the tanker guy has access, and can discharge by gravity.

We did ours from the mains eventually.

Good to know it seems feasible to fill straight from the mains. like BW our pool is higher than the road. in our case quite a bit higher. I am hoping that water limit BW spoke about does not kick in for us. Do you know if the limit is usage per month or a year? If it did/does not kick in for BW we should be fine as his pool is bigger than ours.
