How did I come to hear of it ?…..back in the 70s I knew a couple of Irish drinking holes in W. London…..at closing time you’d get locked in…..and I remember the Powers…they’d bring it out for their special guests…..an honour it was too…

….. ellie…… Maceira [you sure you’re spelling it right?] is a cheap ’n cheerful brandy quite er fruity and sweetish not harsh but best served on the rocks….its not strong 37 ish something proof I think …..and is probably the most popular brandy in Portugal. Why don’t you try one…. They cost next to nothing and you don’t have to drink it!
chin chin……hope alls well

What on earth is going on with this topic? with all these coq's and bushes the untrained and innocent mind can only be drawn to sinful thoughts,  surely it's time to bring one's mind above the waist. I'm loath to say that the biggest culprit is our prolific forum member "Ellie",  things seem come to a head when she is in residence in CVO and you poor mis-guided fools are drawn in and all decency is abandoned. I say clean up your act Ellie or I shall be forced to disciplin you when we meet.

Ellie - it was about the size of a plump pipistrelle bat but actually dragged itself along the floor with what looked like its elbows :!: I asked a local taxi driver if this "thing" was a bat and he said no and proceeded to stamp on it :? I was quite distressed at this action because as you probably know in the UK bats are protected. Anyway I later discovered that these creatures weren't bats but some form of insect-thing that liked nothing better than to jump after you as you ran screaming down the road!! I decided that I would take a photograph of these creatures and forward to the museum of science and nature in London, but unfortunately I was too scared to get close enough to to pretend to be the female equivalent of David Bailey
