Anyone on here a whizz at setting up websites?

cowboy, I'm working on the leprechauns
Hi there Thunder, I can do sites - I actually did one for a friend of mine a LONG time ago in South Africa - she was advertising picnics as well, worked like a dream and it would work here too I am sure.

Now THIS is how to do picnics 8) : http://www.boschendal.co.za/intro_frame.htm - oops you have to click "Le Pique Nique" on the left menu...

I am pretty sure that you could use the Kitchen of Restaurant Roma too during the day - and you may be able to use it as a base - let me know on info@orangeocean.net or on 00352 916 634 007 and if you are seriously interested I could do some organizing for you...

Good idea Dee W... Advertising is at the heart of this...otherwise, how would would the customers know we were there? Any ideas as to how to go about it?

(a 24hr. order costs more...if you want a cheaper deal, come and get it at the regular time)

I reckon this service would go down well, as would the lunches, too.
The only problem that I envisage with not ordering 24 hours in advance would be that when the shop is busy (which it obviously would be) this would put pressure on staff at that particular time. Giving notice would enable picnic lunches to be made up during the odd quiet time and refrigerated. Advertising could be in the way of flyers posted to apartments etc., this would take time initially but nobody ever got anywhere without a bit of hard work. Maybe Steen would allow an ad on this site

Fixed it, Dee :)

You had the "Disable BBCode in this post" box checked, just uncheck it if you want to use the "quote" command next time.

Falcon, I looked at the site for Le Pique Nique and it looks great - my only comment with the menu is that it looks quite posh for everyday folk to take to the beach i.e. fig pate! But you never know. But this is where the ordering 24 hours in advance would come in .......if somebody had a particular liking for something that wasn't on a picnic menu, then there may be a chance that it could be bought in (at an extra charge eh Cowboy).

These are just odd thoughts that are going through my mind when I should be working but I like to be helpful :)

Thats why the menues(sp) are limited and the lunches are pre- packed...at peak time, we only sell, not make them.

Cuts down on labor costs, and we pass the savings on to the customer....or make more money...whatever the traffic will bear.

DeeW, it was just an idea to show Thunderbolt that the concept works, I wasn't suggesting "Ice Cream in a wafer basket with road kill sauce" as they say in their sample menu.

As long as the sandwiches were packed nicely they could use those, who knows, thats details 8)

Cheers for that Gambrinus! I thought I was going mad. Everybody else seemed to be managing OK and I felt slightly stupid. Dare not try it yet though in case I get it wrong again

Mmmm road kill sauce - sounds delightful

Cowboy - do you mean those pre-packed sandwiches that you can buy in service stations (we have them over here but the choice is very limited) I think that Digger and Thunderbolt originally mentioned that the sandwiches would be speciality fillings etc., on delicious bread rolls (we don't want standards to drop!!)

falcon,

I think the idea is great. Definitely up for looking into it more seriously now that I've read all the different options.

Maybe we could get together and discuss next time I'm in Carvoeiro (22 days to go!)

wow ,we seem to up on our horse and riding off in all directions maybe something simple and clear cut that can be done really well to start with and then expand and experiment further on ?has anybody thought to get in touch with catering equipment traders ..not only will they send you all the bumf but will invite you to trade shows all over the country ...there are some amazing ideas out there and it,ll give some realistic ideas about whats needed money wise and its all for free .
As regardes getting the name about ..trawl the bars and niteclubs for as many goodlooking people as you can get and invite them to your opening ...also get some cops and army involved ..pretty girls and uniforms are so photogenic..lots of free food tee shirts and above all lots and lots of balloons..get them all to text and ring the local radio station asking whats going on with all these beutifull people outside your place...then ring all the local papers asking them NOT to send any photographers as the other papers guys are there and they want an exclusive..if the snappers are there so will the local council and politicos..no publicity is bad publicity..go way over the top ..big dogs and exotic animals are great too as they give the less experienced snappers something good to shoot ..and remember if the big shots are there then the paperwork has to be easy enough ...round it all off with a good jaz band and the whole algarve will know about FAT SAMS FOOD AND DRINK EMPORIUM ,by the way i,m selling the pub so if your looking a few investors ye might throw my hat into the ring, best of luck ,gerry
ps don,t think about too long just do it

Wow, I never thought this would create so many responses.

I am dead serious about this so maybe if we could get the interested parties to pm me and then we could trawl through the ideas and streamline it all down.

As I said, I already have a skeleton business plan sorted out.
