PRACTICAL solutions to loss of TV Reception

Bruce, connect you laptop to your tv with a HDMI cable, set the tv input to hdmi , I have. Found picture not brilliant but watchable.

I've discovered my Motorola XOOM tablet has a micro HDMI socket. I've bought a micro HDMI adapter and can now connect it to the HDMI socket on the TV. Quality is pretty good.

Currently watching Flog It using Filmon on a very indifferent WiFi connection. It's not HD but will do.

Filmon has gone very lumpy but I'm sure it's down to the inadequate WiFi at QdP. It was flawlwess using the WiFi and the Cocktail garden tonight.

So, all you need now is around 30mtrs of cable and you're sorted.

The potential problem here is that the uplinkers, AQIVA, may well start to change their encription codes more frequently, and your supplier will charge you for modifying your decoder, and if AQIVA decide to up the code to 8 or even 16 bit, it may be very difficult to get the codes.

I suspect you are right Bruce. It's not a route we plan to take. I think some people will pay whatever it takes to get their TV. They also believe that there will always be a solution.
