potted trees in the square

Post by floyd »

Far be it from me to be a pessimist, but those trees are getting too big for their pots. When they blow over in the next gale just remember who said it first.

Murry Walker used to have the same effect on Nigel Mansell. No doubt elfinsafety will be on the case and put a big fence around them.

I have repeatedly been looking for the trees which were installed just after we left on 9 May, so really pleased they are back. Will see them next week for real. :D :D :D

I'm glad they have the potted trees there at the moment, if it wasn't for the trees, the place would look deserted, 7.20 p.m, where is everyone ? ?

We were sitting there the other day and I was thinking they could install some larger, permanent palm trees which would provide shade from the sun for those who prefer it. Three or four down the middle would probably do the job. Those present ones in the boxes tend to look like a token gesture.

Oh Tom, I think they are lovely. A bit of green amongst concrete brightens it. Palm trees, that sounds expensive. :D

The previous palm trees in and near the square were removed due too infection by Red Palm Weevil which was killing them. Replacement palms would be nice, but I suspect they would suffer the same fate.

Yes I think so too Sam. I do think the olives should have had a trim over the winter that are there. I wonder where they go over the winter.

Who ever Olive is, she must be "untidy" if she hasn't had a trim.
