Re: " Crazy Chcken "
There was a removal lorry from Munich being loaded up about 6 weeks ago - the apartment above shows no sign of life and we have not seen any of the family for several weeks.
Doesn't look good

Thank you Roy, we have heard that it is for sale etc etc.
Maybe there is someone out there who could take it on and turn into a friendly and simple, chicken and ribs place with good value daily meals.

Little bit in the middle of nowhere to make an annual reasonable profit that's why the previous tenants have upped and left, shame it's always nice to see success when someone's having a go.

Check out O Barradas.
Its in the middle of nowhere, a fair drive from CVO or from Lagoa or from Silves - yet its an excellent restaurant (one of my favourites) and the owner is "pretty well off" as a result.
Location is a poor excuse for a bad restaurant or it may be irrelevant for a great restaurant.

Re: " Crazy Chcken "
Oh yes I agree, O Alambique fulfils all the same criteria
Re: " Crazy Chcken "
When Frango Maluco first opened both food and business were good but over time both got worse - a situation demonstrating classic business theory.
We on Boa Vista urbanisation are extremely disappointed as it was the only bar we could go to without driving and just hope it will not be another 10 years before it reopens

We stayed at a B&B in Northern Portugal. It was in the middle of nowhere, as was the nearby restaurant. It was a week night and the owner booked us into the restaurant. Thought that was unnecessary until we go there. It was packed. It wasn't particulary cheap, but the food and service was fantastic. So just cos its isolated doesn't mean it need lack custom.Madeofmoney wrote:Little bit in the middle of nowhere to make an annual reasonable profit that's why the previous tenants have upped and left, shame it's always nice to see success when someone's having a go.

A good restaurant with attention to customer service, a good balanced menu, well cooked food and competitive prices will survive regardless of location because good news spreads. However if your main offering is chicken piri piri and ribs and you attempt to take it up market and charge up market prices with poor service then you will not survive. In my experience one of the best ways to judge a restaurant in the Algarve is to see how many Portuguese eat there, especially if you want chicken piri piri or other local dishes. A good example of this is the fish restaurant on the left hand side of the N125 near to Lagos. It's not near anything really but at lunchtime the large car park is always overflowing.

"pretty well off" .As a result of what? if it's a result of the takings at "Crazy Chicken" why has he abandoned the establishmente-richard wrote:Check out O Barradas.

Family split caused demise of the restaurant, who wants to eat in a place where you can feel the tension.
Anyway saw today the for sale sign has gone, could this be a new beginning

Re: " Crazy Chcken "
At last something is happening at this restaurant, yesterday we saw people moving in after several days of activity painting etc. I will post if any positive news of the restaurant reopening.
