Walk Monday 23 February 2015 : Cafe Casinhas. CLOSED

It is becoming something of a tradition to end our series of walks with this one : we unfortunately go back to the UK on 28 February.

Track is fairly undulating, nothing (too!) steep, with minimal loose scree. The final descent is a bit steep. Lovely countryside, plenty of orange groves, nice views from the top.

Degree of difficulty : 2 to 3 Moderate , but Energetic in places!

Duration about 2 hours 15 mins.

Meet at Cafe Casinhas .

Departure : 1000

Directions:
From CVO, drive to Silves and go over bridge, turn right.
At the roundabout, follow the N124 in direction of Messines.
After about 400m, almost opposite the Galp petrol station on your left, turn right on to " Turismo Rural".
Follow this for about 2.5 kms, when you will see the Cafe Casinhas on your right......they don't open till 1100 but will be open when we get back and do a good Prato de Dia for 7.5€ for those feeling peckish!

Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.

Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0900 on the day of the walk.

The grey clouds threatened, but the rain held off and 17 of us had a great 2 h 15m walk ( 8.7km according to Alan) through the orange groves and past the glorious almond blossom:


and back where 13 enjoyed the excellent prato do dia for €7.5!
