Faro Hotel

After coming to the Algarve for many years, I have never had an overnight stay in Faro – so this year I intend to put that right – can anybody recommend a decent hotel close to the bright lights?

Stayed in Hotel Faro about 5 years ago. Nice roof terrace and hotel was ok for the price. Staff were friendly, hotel was modern, clean and very central. Think I would stay in Hotel EVA (same as bus company) if doing it again though as it has a rooftop pool, beside railway and bus stations and practically opposite Hotel Faro. Faro has a little train that runs through the town (in summer anyway). Little warren of pedestrianised streets and a shopping centre about 10 mins walk from the centre, but other than that can't say there's a lot to do in Faro. Think there may be boat trips to the islands that you see when landing.

Thanks Joey, Hotel Eva looks sorta half decent and I might give it a go, I see it is down by the marina so should have some decent Restaurants in the vicinity.

We only had one evening meal Sam and from memory it was good. 5 years ago, cannot recall name or indeed location. I would go by tripadvisor.
