Walk no. 120 : Monday 30 Nov.2015 : Cafe Casinhas. CLOSED

Post by Geoff »

It is becoming something of a tradition to end our series of walks with this one : we unfortunately go back to the UK on 6 December but will be back in January.

Track is fairly undulating, nothing (too!) steep, with minimal loose scree. The final descent is a bit steep. Lovely countryside, plenty of orange groves, nice views from the top.

Degree of difficulty : 2 to 3 Moderate , but Energetic in places!

Duration about 2 hours 15 mins.

Meet at Cafe Casinhas .

Start : 1000

Directions:
From CVO, drive to Silves and go over bridge, turn right.
At the roundabout, follow the N124 in direction of Messines.
After about 400m, almost opposite the Galp petrol station on your left, turn right on to " Turismo Rural".
Follow this for about 2.5 kms, when you will see the Cafe Casinhas on your right......they don't open till 1100 but will be open when we get back and do a good Prato de Dia for 7.5€ for those feeling peckish!

Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.

Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0900 on the day of the walk.

Please indicate below if you asre coming as numbers had to be limited to 20 last year.

Any questions , please ask or ring 282 380015 preferably between 1800-1900 or 8am to 9am but not before 29 October.

Hi Geoff, my Mum will also be in CVO at the time of this walk and would like to come along as well. Would that be OK? Helen & Nigel

Glad you reminded me, as i was just about to close the walk! Yes, weather looks super if it stays as it is...

Walk is now closed as we have enough people.

A cloudy morning threatened to mar our last walk, but the sun soon came out and we had lovely blue skies : Wendy & Jenny joined us making a full house of 20:

Total time was 2h 10m and everyone , including Christine's husband, enjoyed an excellent €7.5 prato de dia at Casinhas

thanks to all for your company during November, hope to see you in January have a great Christmas & a prosperous New year!

Hi, I'm new to the Algarve and looking for walking groups. With appalling timing it seems as if I've discovered your group just after the last walk of the season! What's the most direct way of finding out details of forthcoming walks?
