Walk Monday 5 November 2018 : Norinho/Enxerim. CLOSED

Walk is now closed as there are enough people.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WALK LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED. Casinhas is still closed and Mira Rio is now closed on a Monday. Walk therefore changed to Norinho.

It's flat along the lavada to start, has 5 minutes of back road and then is all on country tracks, many of them uphill but with quite a long climb in the early stages,(about ten/fifteen minutes) up some scree, and is quite steep in places, but after that the paths are good and there is a gentle descent, along with some lovely views.

Duration : last time 2h 40m.....10.2km, 332m ascent, according to Colin, which sounds & felt about right.

The cafe has been tried and recommended : menu and size is limited but they do a good grilled meat or fish prata de dia. Optional lunch for 10€ for chicken/pork/Carapau but 11€ for Dorada......but please note new lunch price policy at viewtopic.php?f=39&t=27800

Degree of Difficulty ( scale 1:5 ) : the steep climb makes that part a grade 4 ( strenuous) but the rest is overall grade 2 or 2.5.

Start: 1000.....but please arrive by 0945 if you want a coffee!

Directions : drive from Carvoeiro to Silves, go over the bridge and turn right and follow the N124 for about 3.2 kms until you see Cafe Casa de Pasto a Norinho on your left : park in layby opposite.

It is ESSENTIAL that you indicate below if you can come and whether you want lunch, as numbers will be limited to about 20. Thank you.

Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.

Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
