You do it at home so cannot be verified that it is yours. You will need evidence of where and when the test was done. So this is not suitable for Fit to Fly.

One would think so ...might the website says :

"Easy to use, gentle nasal swab, suitable for general testing or Fit to Fly*, results within 24-36 hours of lab receipt.
*This means you will receive a Fit to Fly certificate with this test."

However, it needs posting back by Royal Mail...so by the time its delivered to lab & tested, there may not be much ( if any) of the 72 hours left....

It is extremely unlikely to be accepted by the airline or the Portuguese government. If people are flown in without the correct paperwork the airlines can be fined 2,000 euros per person, so there are a lot of people likely to be turned away or sent home if they use these types of test. Is it worth the risk to save a few pounds.
There is a place in Lagoa - JCS Labs that were doing the tests for return.

.....it's 24 hours from when they get it, might be OK if you live near a dropbox...but it's a home test...still think these are a bit iffy!

With our boarding at 4.20pm on 1 June, the bank holiday, and Easyjet/Randox having a lst collection of 1600 on the saturday, looks as if we won't be going, sadly.

Geoff, re bank holiday, can't you move your flight on a day or two.

Most of the PCR kits being advertised as Fit to Fly are home test where you send in a sample. Even those on the NHS government site are now done the same way.
Can’t believe all these companies would advertise in this way if the results are not acceptable?

If you can get to Dartford in Kent have a look at this firm https://www.fittoflypcr.co.uk/.

It appears their tests are done at their lab so need delay with post or couriers. They offer a range of time scales such as 10 hour turnaround and they are open throughout bank holidays and weekends. Prices look reasonable as well. You book on-line.

Yes..might have to queue t o get on their website, but dropbox cutoff is 4pm, not helpful for an evening flight....Express Testing are cheaper & are open later. Difficult to get Royal Mail Priority service if POs shut on a sunday and b/h.

As above, an antigem will do, 30€ from Synlabs in Lagoa...need to book.

Best news is DT reckoning that vaccine passports will suffice to get out there.....NHS App now updated and shows this....as they said it would from May 17, a success!

Arrived in Carvoeiro today, flew with EasyJet, the flight was half full & Luton airport very quiet. The flight was good aside from the young guy in front of us who thought it was okay not to wear his mask! No snacks served during the flight however you can take food on board.
Sadly families are having to cancel their holiday due to the excessive cost of tests, can add up to £1000 extra.
It was 31 degrees today, had forgotten what it feels like to have sun on your face!
