Serendipity! I was just about to ask if anyone knew the Portuguese stance as it appears MrsT has had a dose of Z003. Looks like September may still be on, although with less confidence than when I booked. Once we get there though, that's it!

Latest Govt advice, see https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advic ... quirements does say :
If you have travelled from the UK to mainland Portugal, you must quarantine for 14 days in the place you are staying or at a place indicated by the Portuguese health authority, unless you can show you have been fully vaccinated with an EU approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel.
It would seem that until AZ made in India is approved, then you can't travel....unless you want to use 14 of your 90 days quarantining! Hopefully, it will change.....

But now replaced with another saying they got it wrong last week.

The jist of the latest Tweet is that all UK AZ vaccinations ate acceptable in Portugal. For those on Twitter search for UK in Portugal.

I'm not sure that the UK is reciprocating.

That is to say, that it isn't clear if UK citizens vaccinated twice in Portugal will be allowed to avoid quarantine when they return to UK ?

The UK locator form does not have anywhere to declare you do not have to isolate from Amber if you are double jabbed. They have 2 option buttons - neither cover this. So you can lie and declare option 1 that you need to self isolate, or you can lie and declare you are one of the exempt professions! I suppose thats right for politics these days.

DT said yesterday that :

"Portugal refuses to recognise AZ vaccinations made in India....as the Govt failed to secure a rule change....Portugal is amongst 13 countries that do not recognise the India made version...it is thought that the vaccine could be recognised by September".

Trash reporting Geoff. Portugal has not refused. It has not explicitly said it will accept them but many who have had these batches have entered Portugal without question.

Thats good news. :D Friends we're coming with in September both had one dose of the Indian AZ - so were preparing for more disappointment!

I've heard of many entering without issue and not heard of anyone being asked to quarantine. Maybe I'll be the first!
