Any Suggestions?

Post by Ellie »

A publisher has shown interest in my short stories on E.Corner. Of course on the corner I make them really short,so I have had to put much more work in before forwarding them for review. Even a book of short stories has to be at least 50,000words --so Im really burning the midnight oil !
I hope to send off the second lot to them this week (this isopening chapters--reasons for going etc and our journey overland, first few days inAlgarve)
They have a "working title" and it is "Algarve Shorts"--if I have success,Ive told Steen that I am dedicating it to Carvoeiro.com;to all my friends there.
What Id like to ask is--do you have any better suggestions for the title please ? The "Algarve Shorts" was just a quick one off the top of my head but Im not at all sure about it.
Im under review on:
www.design-publications.co.uk/books_previews.htm
if this next lot are OK,d they'll be there on line.
So ,Im keeping everything crossed--but I wont count my chickens------
Thank-you for your time-Ellie.
Im having tuition for my "punctuation" which is quite bad--wish me luck please.

Ellie, I have just read a few of your stories and wanted to wish you good luck with the publishing ... the stories really made enjoyable reading, quite reminiscent of Peter Mayle's "A year in Provence" and "Hotel Pastis".

Thanks

"Driving over lemons" was a good one - shame it has already been used.

Have you noticed that Jeff (now he is no longer WJS) is all deep, meaningful and caring? :?

Still trying to work out which one I liked best

What a lovely lot you are --
Sorry about that Mads-imvery sloooow this morning after heavy night--with the midnight oil of course !
Thank -you Jeff-and youre probably right-do'you think it'll suddenly come to me?
Rod-what could you possibly mean-first chapters --well-worn briefs ?Do'you mean they look good when worn--or worn from wear ?
More Irish crack ? Do you have a book out I could buy ?
Falcon--like the name --suggests medieval to me --thanks very much for your nice comments--i enjoyed Peter Mayles book and TV -but then I love France --particularly Provence--have you been there--the French lavender fields are absolutely beautiful-you can buy the plants at the road side and the lavender water is a favourite of mine-different to English.
I like the wines from the Luberon(where book is set) valley too!
Thanks, all of you --youre great mates, luv Elliex
