Upgrade your property with a little bit of luxury!
I just recently sold a couple of jaccuzzi´s in lagoa. they were a pet project because i wanted a jaccuzzi for myself! Now i am the proud owner of an XL22000 Catalina hot tub. This particular spa has a 42 inch pop up plasma screen and dvd player. So when the footie is on i jump in with a cold beer and relax! If anyone is interested in this kind of thing feel free to E-mail me because i believe there is a huge market out there and potential for small business.www.catalinaspas.co.uk

Waterproof, I hope - otherwise an evening with footy could well turn into an unexpected BBQJaccuzzi Tom wrote:This particular spa has a 42 inch pop up plasma screen and dvd player.
You may be right about the market, but bear in mind that an accessory that expensive is more for your personal benefit. From a rental perspective, well, let's just say you have to rent out a lot of weeks before it is paid off and it is not really an argument for a higher rate - like kteee said, not something that people look for in summer.

Moni
jacuzzi etc. ...
I think in a bout a month, there will open a new shop next to Sulcave in Lagôa (close to Fatacil) where you can buy all that kind of things

For those of us who rent our property the risk of damage due to misuse is considerable. While the return on your investment is one issue the misuse issue would be our biggest concern. I don't think there is a damage deposit large enough to replace one of these.
How do insurance companies view such fittings?
It's a nice thought and when the day arrives when we move to Cvo permanently it is certainly a luxury that will feature highly on the 'essential' list.
On a dreary UK day with temperatures averaging 4 degrees - wouldn't it be nice.......

We are back over on Saturday, to continue the refurb on the villa we bought at the end of last year. We don't have a pool, although one is in our medium term plan. (Kitchen, bathrooms etc first) We don't intend to rent, and a number of people have questioned if a pool is really necessary, especially since we are on QDP within 100m of a resort pool. An alternative would be something like we had when we lived in California - some time ago now! We had a fairly small pool with a jacuzzi attached to it. You could divert warm water heading for the pool into the jacuzzi and recirculate, or let it overflow into the pool. The jacuzzi was fairly simple, a shelf to sit on and a few jets, but it was great for autumn and spring, when we didn't want to heat the whole pool. Anyone seen anything simlilar in Algarve?

Well from personal experience i would say its very hard to abuse the spa system itself as the only access to the pump and internal fittings are under lock and key! If someone was to keep your spa serviced and clean they could keep the key.
