I was at a pool shop in Almancil this afternoon and they had a system to run your pool on oxygen! does anyone know anything about this revelation in pool maintenance???

Presumably you do as you probably work the shop?

Damn, some people don't waste time to post a nasty comment.

Why don't you just leave that to the mods to decide?

Granted, it sounds like the beginning of a ShoppingTV ad, but as long as the poster is not blatantly advertising a shop or service I see no reason to doubt that this is a valid information request.

Actually MATE im a builder who specialises in pool surrounds and patios but recently was offered several contracts of pool maintainence.Trying to find people who are experienced in this kind of thing. You probably have a bit of a pesamistic side to your personality hence the reason you were very Quick to make a presumption! All the best to the mods!!!!! I was a mod once upon a time hehehe had a lambretta 125

NO CHLORINE IS A GOOD THING

Post by Jaccuzzi Tom »

Hello, I believe the system you are talking about is called E-Clear Technology. It involves reverse osmosis in a bid to change Hydrogen particles into Oxygen thus eliminating nasty bacteria! ask in piscinas 2000 in almancil i think they have the system.
Good luck and let us know what happens ok!

Brilliant

Don't try to split hydrogen atoms, you might end up blowing up the earth :!:

 So you don't recommend the hydrogen theory, Einstein :? Would it create a geyser effect?

Better to try fusing together 2 atoms of Hydrogen to produce 1 atom of Helium. This will certainly get rid of all pool bacteria, and everything else within a one mile radius

It seems that pools are the new double glazing. C.f. people selling bubble wrap for a billion pounds by claiming it is 'special'.

It does sound a very attractive idea, but I worry when a company selling it produces dross like this http://www.ecleartechnologies.com/faq.htm .

our pool doesn't use chemicals, it's all done with salt, don't ask me how. We've never had a problem with water going green or too much chemicals, it's always clear and doesn't smell of bleach! Another plus is towels, etc last longer, no red eyes at the end of the day and no dry skin.

B1stD's pool cleaner sounds like an electrolysis based system that separates chlorine from salt (NaCl) by passing over electrodes. The chlorine gas sweeps the pool removing microbial bugs before it recombines with the sodium. Because most of the chlorine & sodium recombine the system requires a much lower chlorine concentration than conventional systems where the gas is lost, so only occasional salt dosing is required. Salt concentrations are also low enough so you don't feel like you are swimming in sea water..........I think!

Well check the website EINSTEIN i think you will find it less alchemy and more common sense! do you have a pool or are you in the deep end of a subject you know little or nothing about?

Errrrr too many scientists in here

This patented and advanced technology provides "Natural Oxygen" via Electronic Oxidation plus Germicidal Ionisation and Ultraviolet. This combined technology results in the total elimination of all Algae - Bacteria and a host of viruses including the parasite Cryptosporidium whilst still providing the required Oxidation to qualify as a stand alone 100% TOXIC FREE FRESH WATER Sanitiser, not requiring 1 gram of Chlorine - Bromine - Ozone or Salt!

Hope that clears it up for you all.

well thanks alot guys

I spoke with a man called victor at piscinas 2000 he put me on to polypools who are going to advise me further. Lots of science and stuff but im always interested in technology. apparently by using this new system a pool owner can cut ALL chemical bills and thats got to be good for everyone involved(apart from the chemical producers.) Anyway i will give it a test in my pool coz i spend quite a bit on chemicals and one unit of E-clear technology is only 500-1000 euros depending on size of pool!
that is what i pay for a year of chemicals and cleaning!
