Fado...

Post by shasric »

Hello,

Can anyone recommend any places in the CVO area that put on Fado nights?

I'm sitting here in grey Coventry listening to a Fado CD, but am coming out to CVO on Sunday, and would like to hear it live!

Thanks.

Richard Im not sure when it begins but last year they had Fado at 'Casa da Pao' in Carvoeiro on Sunday nights..
It was my first experience of live Fado..and it was a truly wonderful evening (mind you..this was September)..
The Fadista 'Maria da Saudade' also told me they performed at Restaurant 'Rampa' in Porches..
Theres another place (forgotten name) on road out of CVO on the left..almost as you get near the end..which advertised Fado as well(maybe kteee or G know?)
I think theres also place in Lagoa but maybe someone else can help you with that one?
p.s.Theres a story on ellies corner 'Fado night' with a pic of Maria and instrumentalists...very talented!
Richard ..I have CDs too..when you listen it feels like being there?
Makes me nostalgic :)

OK Ellie,
Just read your newsletter about the Fado in 'Casa da Pao' on Sunday nights. You have me hooked :) .
I take it this is a restuarant as well. Do we have to book a table for Sunday evening? It is expensive? And where exactly is it? :?

When are you out there Joe?Did you say next month? It could be busy then.Im not sure whether the Fado will be on then...I hope it is as Ill be there :)
Its popular with Portuguese when Fado is on...

Hey Ellie
Nell and I are going out to Cvo 8th May and are hoping to visit 'The Anteak Bar' on the following Thursday night. Shall we see you there among the 'locals'? 8)
We hope to look at some property while there. Anybody know of anything interesting. (Not the House on the Hill, Please :( )

Try O Simplicio near Vae de Rey. Great food and Fado once every fortnight.
