I bet most are post 1960. Just a few of us are creaking whilst sitting at the keyboard.

Afraid in my case you must accept PRE 1950 as the nearest I am going to admit to!

I have a post 1960 ( only just ) model. However I once banged my helmet

and the policemen said I had to have it x rayed before I used it again!! Therefore, if you damage your helmet, or like Biffa have an old, always check it, or have it looked over before going for a ride.

Isn't a damaged helmet illegal anyway?? Wouldn't like to be arrested for such a trivial offence!!! Then again, if the Policeman has a better helmet??

Perhaps Susan and I should focus our attention on the uniformed men of the world - what a good idea - a very wide range of helmets - and easy to identify the target

How wonderful, our first volunteer.

I am however a little concerned about these pre 1960 models which may be damaged. This is a survey, not a repair service.

We could give advice, a little baby oil to revive the shine or cotton buds to clean those dodgy rims but I'm not sure our remit includes refurbishment or major repairs.

Personally I have found that most of the early sixties models are wearing extremely well and now have strength and character gained from years of careful handling.

Look forward to our next volunteer.

well,...i don't want to be a volunteer,.. but maybe you could help me with this problem...i took my last hols at a nudist camp (much less packing), and it was brill....however i did have a problem or two...when i undressed and ventured forth...i kept tripping...then these two young girls walked by,...and i couldn't walk under the trees without getting tangled up in the branches... any advice?

Its easy Cowboy,

tie your shoe laces up properly (You need to wear shoes in a nudist camp when you go walking in the woods - and don't ask me how I know) and don't go walking through bonzai forests.

It,s the coffee dock type cafe on the ground floor thats pre-pay the cafe on the first floor is serve first pay later.
As regards cleaning under the rim ye can,t beat a good wire brush and carbolic soap

Ive been following this discussion with great interest and feel I must now intervene and say,that from my experience --which I readily admit is not so wide-- -I have to say that,to me,French policemen have the best head gear/ helmets --what have you--on a French visit in April --a young french officer touched his in salute to me, whilst riding his horse--quite clever that and tres charmant !
