Quiet Beaches

Hi, we are coming out to Sesmarias next Saturday. Can anyone tell us where the quieter beaches are (if there is such a thing in July!!!)? We have a 5 year old with us, so wouldn't want too many steep steps.

If you mean close to Carvoeiro Centianes is not bad if you have a car. It has been a bit wrecked because of the cliff works (see postings) but it is a reasonable size and I think those works have kept people away a bit. Beach bar not open yet and looks a fair way off (August?)

Get there early, or at lunch time when it thins out and you should get a car park space down the bottom towards the sea.

Otherwise you will have to go out of town to say Canarios, Praia Grande or Pintadinho near Ferragudo or the other way to Armacao de Pera. Armacao gets busy but only near the town end -you can go a bit further along (east) and it is fine

We love Caneiros on the way to Ferragudo, just the whole 5 or 6 steps, you do need a car to get there, quieter out of the peak weeks than a lot of others, but well used by locals at the weekend.
