Tourist

GNR

Post by Tourist »

:?: Perhaps the GNR would be better employed by sorting out the drug/ anti social problem that is manifesting its self in Carvoieiro (mainly it seems to be by RASCALS bar and the steps by Tia Ilda resaurant) than wasting time fining tourists for not wearing shirts/ tops. But then that's the nature of Police everywhere forget crime just raise revenue

no its not an old law, flip flops or backless shoes are dangerous while you driving they can get stuck on the pedal an cause an accident, walkink whitout shirt in the streets is legal but going in to public places whitout shirts or bare foot its ilegal i understand many shop owners let people going inside whitout shirts or bare foot just because they want to make money but i assist in one bar the owner not served several turists because they didnt have shirts or shoes which for me its fair.
ROTCIV wrote:Did you also know that it is also now an offence to drive whilst wearing flip flops or backless shoes? Approx. 150 Euros fine
that's an old law bruxinha, but only recently the pigs started to enforce it, it's another way of getting revenue, if they don't pick on anything else of course

In my opinion religion should be an individual thing and shouldn't impose itself on society and how it is governed etc. Atheists don't go round telling people you have to wear this or that or cover your shoulders up etc.

Someone has told me that there is a law here that says you cannot walk about the streets without a shirt on or without shoes on your feet. I know a guy that was stopped by a GNR officer in Silves and told to put on a top whilst he was cycling about the town.

Personally I think it is a bit unfair that guys can walk about the streets without a top on but if a woman did it she would probably be arrested!
:?

I don't know if it's a good answer for the good subject, but about opium for the masses, what do you think about the teenagers smoking pot on Paraiso Beach or on municipal beach, just under the GNR post ?

Last week when shopping at an alisuper we observed the typical British holiday couple, he bare chested heavily tattooed leaning over the fresh meat counter ordering their burgers.
I am not sure if the look of disgust that the butcher gave their departing backs was diue to their apearence or their lack of taste considering the choices on offer.
Why is it many of us think that we can behave abroad in a way that would never be tolerated at home.

B2D, Don't know where you live but what ROTCIV isn't rubbish!! it is fact!!
If the current growth of the Muslim population in the UK carries on as it has been doing for the past years, it is estimated that the UK will be a Muslim country within 20 to 30 years! Christians will be the minority.
