Well, as you may know Mitch did a bunk last year or was it the year before back to Holland then Tia ran it for a while on her own but i believe at the mo she is in the states. And i agree she is a lovely woman and great fun and her cooking is out of this world- did anyone try her potatoes with cumin seed (done in a little goat fat with some chopped cooked carrot) absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!! I still do them at home after she gave me the recipe. Mmmmmmmm - if you want the recipe e-mail me x x x

Hi guest- since people who come from Holland are Dutch and I said Mitch went back to Holland, does it not make you think that Tia may too be Dutch??? Or are you thinking of a chef of the male variety.? Tia is female and she is Dutch and she is a chef and she did the cooking while Mitch did the floor. When he left she did the floor and got a chef in but it was never the same...she just has that je ne sais quoi..........

In all fairness April I didn't automatically assume Tia was Dutch anymore than Guest did....

I have a friend who's very English goddaughter is called Tia!!!!!

A tad sarcastic. The Brazilain lady who teaches me Portugues is called Tia, so there is no real obvious Ductch connection!

Actually her name is Thea, but I can understand non-dutch will write it otherwise. Her hub's name is Ge, also dutch. ( the name 'Mitch' is from a guy called Brian Mitchell who refurbished the place some 20 years ago ) Ge left Carvoeiro (and Thea...) some 3 years ago, after that Thea ran the place herself for two years. When the contract with the owners of the property ended, Thea decided not to prolongue it, she is currently living and working in Holland, and actually quite happy. She still owns a property in Carvoeiro, so every now and then she is here. Owners of Mitch's have decided that they would now prefer to sell instead of renting it out.
