restaurants will definitely book you a taxi.

To the best of my knowledge there is a payphone in the Val do Milho area. I seem to recollect driving past one last year.

There certainly is one at the supermarket in Roche Brava

Kim, are you taking a mobile phone with you, if so I can give you a number for a taxi. Otherwise there is a public phone near the clubhouse at Vale do Milho, maybe one inside too! There is another phone box at Rocha Brava which should be within walking distance depending on where the villa is situated on the development.

I'm sure our party will have at least 1 mobile phone, so a taxi number would be appreciated for our 'car-less' week! Also, the fact that we all enjoy a drink or two means that we will be using a lot of taxis. I don't speak Portugese, so will the taxi company understand us?

Yes, shouldn't be a problem, we use Paulo, his number is 968 099193 and he speaks very good english.

Thanks for your help. I would love to hear any other tips or advice for a great stay in CVO (especially staying in a villa in the Vale do Milho area). I read this forum regularly, and love looking at the sunny web cam pictures

What else would you like to know? We have been visiting Carvoeiro for 16 years, and now have an apartment in the village.

The important thing to know about Vale do Milho is the need for a car, everything else will be fine. As for the village itself, if you look through the forum you will find plenty of opinions on restaurants, bars, things to do, beaches etc

If there is anything specific let me know, otherwise enjoy your holiday and tell us all about it when you get back!
