SUMMER 2004
-
pammie
The "bigger airlines" are trying it on at the moment in the hope that the more foolhardy amongst us will panic and book early!
I am convinced that the extra charters for next June will result in prices being forced down.
I am sure the stadiums will not be left to rot Graham , perhaps they could hold mass knitting competitions etc. etc. to cater for everybody who hates "kick & giggle"

Pammie - thanks for the Monarch suggestion - whilst they have not yet got prices beyond April their current prices are reasonable, and they fly at good times from Gatwick, so perhaps my one family boycott of BA can go ahead after all
CM - I understand from the local press that none of the teams in Southern Portugal have any desire to use the new (and very impressive looking) stadium at Loule - I hope that you are right and it will not become a Portuguese 'millenium dome' at vast cost to both Europe and the Portuguese taxpayer.
I am sorry that your world only has Football and knitting as sports. I think that after my two hobbies of Rugby and Offshore sailing I may have the energy for a bit of football, but I think knitting might be too mentally challenging

On a more serious note my understanding is that the T.V. rights (& general media rights ) have more than covered the stadia cost.
Perhaps if nobody wants to use the Faro/Loule stadium we could flood it after the event and when you come to visit (i believe Jan. is cheap enough) you can sail around playing with your funny shaped balls!
Anyway man money is the root of all evil

Indeed indeed Maddi, though my support for him when not in an England shirt sipmly cant exist! Scouser or not!
Anyway Maddi we must be aware-these last few comments have moved away from the original topic some what, and could maybe be described as "blah blah" by some stricter members! We wouldnt want a repeat of the "Cvo's worst" topic now, would we?
Matt

You are quite right Matt, we could take it to Smokey Joes, on the other hand, what does "Summer 2004" mean to you - for me it is Euro 2004!! And if it is Euro 2004 - then Rooney is ok as a topic - scary moment earlier this evening - actually had to show Gary Neville some respect - at least they didn't bring the donkey on tonight!!
