Benagil Restaurants
A bordo com Carlos between Benagil and Marinha is superb for a snack fest.
He also makes the most tender duck in orange and a devastatingly good bacalhau a brás.
His selection of wines is as diverse as it is unique - he goes to the trouble of driving to the Alentejo himself to stock up on the best wines.

Sul Mar on the left on the way into Benagil from Carvoeiro is worth a visit. Good food and friendly service.

O'Littoral
I agree wih all you say about the others but for a superb meal which is reasonably priced try O'Littoral. Up the hill just past O'Algar you will find it on the left. I have been going there for years and it is always superb. The owner is always present and their Plaice is out of this world. Try it

Re: Benagil Restaurants
Surprised that Jacobs in Benagil village was not mentioned. He and his mother are so friendly and she makes the most beautiful almond cake to die for. Well worth a visit. Try the cataplana it is excellent.Sezlez wrote:Can anyone recommend any restaurants in the Benagil area?
Thanks

Ah...., so Jacobs is up and running again is it? We have had some great meals there in the past, despite latterly all the building work going on at the front of the premises for so long. It was a bit daunting at that time with not much of a friendly welcome from the outside.
Then we found it was closed for quite a while, so it didn't figure on our list of places to go. There has been very little publicity / promotion of the restaurant about in the area (like flyers on windscreens - although I don't agree with that as damage can be caused, but that is a minor point)
So come on Restaurant Jacob - let the good people in the area know you are up and running again (and thank you previous friend for letting us know on this forum)
With the new development behind on the coast, it should help Jacob but as there is such a good choice in the area, one can't just sit back and hope for custom - we all have to work hard for success. And one can't rely upon "passing custom" as the street doesn't lead anywhere special.
