Does anyone have the name and number of the Indian Restaurant that is now where O Castlelo was?

At the risk of talking to myself, the number is 282 089 741

Have just been there for the evening and it is a SERIOUSLY good Indian restaurant with fantastic views over the ocean. Well worth a try.

It is closed at the moment but reopens 1st March I believe. The best Indian food in town.

It's owned by the same people who have the indian restaurant up restaurant hill so you can still get their excellent food, though not in such nice surroundings.

I don't think you have the right spot.
This is not the Estrada do Farol, but the Rua do Casino.

Spot on, never tried it as an Indian but have in it's former life. Great views and the walk back is easier than the walk up!

Hi Mike,
We too visited there b4 it was an Indian in our 1st visit 2 CVO, & had a superb meal there with much hilarity(April 2005). I wanted a certain drink which they did not do, however the head guy there, decided to make me his version of the drink. It was seriously good, well shaken in a coctail shaker with all the dramatics. Had 3 or 4 or was it more of them, cannot remember, but oh sooo good. His 3rd attempt cleared the floor with alacrity as he proceeded to shake, rattle & roll it 2 a large audience of people dinning there, & unfortunately the shaker top fell off & he was delulged in a sweet sticky coctail. I tried not 2 laugh, but could not help it. We all laughed in the end including himself. Wonderful.
He also cooked my steak on a portable table, cos it had a french sauce that needed flambaying (sorry about the spelling)with his cohort. That was a real enjoyment 2 , 2 everyone there. As again he cooked 2 an enraptured audience. Will always remember that nite with very nostalgic & happy thoughts.
Was mega dissapointed that they had sold up on our next visit.
No idea if they have opened up under a different name elsewhere?

Obviously that depends on where you are staying

For those of you on the Western side of CVO, there is also a "back" entrance opposite the studio Mare D'Art, thats in the one way hill down.
