Which Restaurant has the best views?

Post by tricky »

This topic lead me to thinking.....
O Castelo has nice views but does anyone have any other favourite restaurants to recommend that have nice outlooks?. Personally I can't fault the view from Canieros beach restaurant (but don't ask for the telephone number because nobody knows)

Hi Tricky,
Do you mean this restaurant?

Restaurante Rei das Praias Lagoa - Ferragudo
Pr Caneiros
, Ferragudo
8400-272 FERRAGUDO
282 461 006
Actividade: Restaurantes
Informação
Caldeirada Peixe
Cataplana Peixe
Cataplana Marisco

This is a review I found:
Rei das Praias, Ferragudo €€€
Located on Caneiros beach between Carvoeiro and Ferragudo, rather than a typical beach restaurant is a high quality fish and seafood restaurant which just happens to be located on a beautiful beach. There is always a great selection of prime fresh fish on offer that can be either plain grilled or oven roasted and then de-boned at your table. For a special treat, ask for the fresh giant carabineiros (red prawns). The restaurant also features an excellent selection of fine wines and champagnes. Reservations are essential. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Tel: 282 461 006

We also love the restaurant on Caneiros Beach but I think the secrets out Tricky. There is a review/recommendation in the Easyjet magazine!

This is a really nice restaurant but they do "pack" everyone in during the evening so won't be going back except for the odd beer at lunch time. Others to consider are the restaurants overlooking Pria Grande at Ferragudo which offer the same quality and a very pleasant view.

You could try the restaurant at Praia do Pintadinho. (The next beach a little further up the road to Ferragudo)

Take a look here at the pictures: http://www.carvoeiro.com/Beaches/pintadinho/

And here is a review:
Pintadinho Beach, Ferragudo €€
One of the best beach restaurants in the western Algarve and very popular with locals. Excellent grilled fish and a great house salad with roasted peppers. Speciality dishes include a first class cataplana of pork and clams and monkfish rice stew (arroz de tamboril).
Open every day for lunch and dinner, closed during the winter months.

I'll never get a table at Rei das Praias now everybody knows!!! it is always advisable to book. We always have our last meal there before departing, with the sun going down over the beach. If your Jose Mourinho you get waiter service on the beach as well.

The secret is well and truly out. Tried on Sunday to book - they are full all this week. I managed to get the last table NEXT Friday
