wedding bells in the Algarve
wedding bells in the Algarve
Hi
We are hoping that some of the residents out there can help with some information.
We plan to marry over in the algarve but cannot find much information to help us on the internet.
We do believe that civil ceremonies are possible in the Algarve but do not (as yet) know any places it can be done. Can anybody help??
We want a very low key affair, there will be few guests and not much fuss.
Any contacts you know of would be a great help.
We will be over in 3 weeks and would like to be able to have a look around at what is available and be able to start to make some arrangements.
If anybody can help us to get the ball rolling we would really appreciate it.
Obrigada

from what ever i have heard about foreigners trying to get married either to each other or a portuguese...its a nightmare...most end up going to Gibraltar as they cant be bothered with all the antics of these beaucrats here...yet another example of how portuguese beucratic stupidity has prevented a good business and tourist attraction from taking off.
one english girl getting married to someone local had to go to
lisbon 9 times for little bits of paper....if you really wnat to get married here then better come here 3 months early!!!!
try the carribean..at least there will welcome you and get you married

Dear Guest
Thank you for your reply (I think!!)
As it happens we are more than familiar with the loopholes that need to be jumped through to get anything done... it has just taken 8 months for us to complete a straight forward purchase on our property out there!
We are frequent visitors and soon to be residents so collecting pieces of paper and getting the general run around will not be too much of a problem for us and as I say someting that we are now quite used to!!
