"Caspo Business informed The Resident that it charges 40 per cent up front when the client requests an application to be made. A further 50 per cent is charged when the project is submitted to the câmara and the remaining 10 per cent is payable when the licence is received."
Don't seem too confident do they? Think I might be more interested in talking to them if they wanted 10% up front and 90% on issue of the licence.

with the rebranding of the our new "allgarve" region comes this interesting piece from the algarve observer...wonder what tax breaks there will be???
"Based on the values of “creativity and diversity” the brand ‘Allgarve’ is intended to contribute to the improvement of eight points which, according to Manuel Pinho, are the priorities: in addition to improving the national brand and stimulating training in the hotel business, the programme aims to increase the range of quality services on offer, make tourism and the environment compatible with each other, increase the number of low-cost airlines flying to Faro, invest in new regions such as the west Alentejo and give tax benefits to the second homes of foreigners."

Just back from CVO having listened to quite a few disgruntled complex/bar owners etc. The place apparently is going to be very quiet in April and May and they put this down to the fact that people are not renting out their properties until the tourist license thing is sorted out.
I have never seen so many properties for sale, mainly the larger villas, is this because the upkeep of them without rental income is prohibitive.
There are also lots of new build going on, are these being sold with 'licenses' have the builders got some deal going with the Camera
or are there thousands of people who can afford to buy without renting?
The locals have no idea how to get hold of a license, many tourist complexs are ringing the camera every day.
I wish they would hurry up and sort it out before it becomes the death of the Algarve

more on tourist property licences
Hallo, Belgen en Nederlanders, kunnen we op het nederlandstalig forum niet verder discusieren over de licentie voor de verhuur van je villa.
Heeft er al iemand van jullie de licentie en wat je er voor gedaan.
Groeten
