Any fun for young people?

Just doing some research for our vacation with friends for next (2004) summer. We thought that we haven't been in Portugal yet and chose Algarve for our destination.
As we are group of young people (in 20s) we do want to rest good that means energetic nightlife.
I read lot of topics in this forum what concerns nightlife in Carvoeiro and I couldn't find simple answer is there anything to do?
Some of guys say that Carvoeiro is perfect for families with little children, it's quite private and silent place. But some others (mostly young) say that there is perfect nightlife if You only can enjoy it.
I understood that there is quite a lot popular bars but is it enough? Our company surely wants to dance and listen mainstream (pop) music but in the bars there people usually only sit.
What about these foam parties I read about?

So we have real dilemma right know - to rest in Carvoeiro or somewhere near Albufeira what some of forum readers have suggested.
Carvoeiro is near to beaches but in Albufeira is more entertainment.

So I did quite a big message but I hope You can give me Your opinions or suggestions.

If you want nightclubs, foam parties and would like to meet lots of young people like yourself i do think Albufiera would suite you more. Although there is a lot of nightlife in cvo i think it might not be as energetic as you would like. There is only one nightclub that i know of, that is on the beach and called A Bote, when i was there last year with my family my niece and nephew (aged 19 & 21) went to the club and said it wasnt as lively or the music wasnt as up to date as clubs in London. Im sure you will have a great time in the Algarve as long as you choose the area that suites your needs most, and i think that might be Albufiera as i think cvo might be a little too quiet for what you want. Where ever you decide to go i hope you and your friends have a great vacation

I have bin going to carvoeiro for years find that there is enough nightlife for young people i always manage to stay up into the early hours but if it is too quiet both Alberferia and Praia Da Rocha are both wthin an easy taxi journey. So the choice won't make much difference i'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you decide!!
