Christmas in Carvoeiro

Hi,
We are currently in the process of purchasing a property in Sesmarias, we were wondering how active Carvoeiro is over the Xmas period and in general the weather conditions.[/list]

Fairly quiet, mainly property owners, residents & locals not too many tourists but tends to liven up for New Year!!

Gary and I and two of our lads had last Xmas out in CVO at our apartment. We bought a Xmas tree tarted it up, had Xmas lunch out at Rascals. Rachel did a really good Xmas lunch of turkey and all the trimmings and everyone who had dinner at Rascals lunched out on the terrace. The weather Xmas day was wonderful, though very cold in the evenings but still enjoyed the few hours of sunshine during the day. We found the town to be quiet, There were a few bars, a good assortment of restaurants still open for business. A good 10 days was had by all with mostly sunny days. Though you can never predict the weather around that time of year.
Take a gamble, Xmas is what you and family make it, we certainly enjoyed.

The algrve at New year is a great place.

There are large beach celebrations, concerts, fireworks etc at most of the main resorts. ( 100,000 in Albufeira this year ).

I understand that CVO can be very quiet though, ( but you would still see the fireworks at Albufeira or Portimao if you get the right spot on the cliffs.
